LaTourette Golf Course Club House - Image taken from www.forgotten-ny.comDescription: LaTourette Golf Course is the course that sets the standard all other city courses. A beautifully restored 170 year-old three-story brick clubhouse; a range practice facility with a Nike training center, and as challenging a 6,700-yard layout as you'll find anywhere, and as close to a private facility as you'll find in New York City.

The course is the perennial host to the New York City Amateur and the celebrity-filled March of Dimes Charity Golf Outing.

LaTourette features fairly open fairways but it will get you on the small hard-to-hold greens.

Like many other local courses, LaTourette is currently undergoing some major work on drainage and re-construction of the Par 3 third hole.

Course Review and Favorite Hole

Bill's' Favorite Hole: No. 16. This 397-yard Par 4 requires an accurate drive to a sloping blind fairway. You must hit the tee shot to the right side of the fairway to avoid your ball rolling into the left tree line. You must hit an accurate iron shot to a slightly elevated, two tier putting green which is guarded on both sides by bunkers. Once on, there's the challenging putting surface.
