Riis Park is a great golf course, I’ve been there for three straight years for outings and its terrific for beginners. The only drawback is that the course is prety busy during the summer. Besides that, the area has a lot of patrking and its for a small fee, not too bad.

Course Review: I remember playing Riis Park in the 1950’s - We gave the man $.75 and got a ball, a 5 iron, a putter, a score card, a pencil & 5 tees, we played 18 holes amongst the dunes and wind, returned the ball and clubs and received a refund of $.50 with which we bought a dog and a pop and still had enough change left from our origanal dollar to get the bus home. Does any one else remember this?

I love Riis Park! It is a small, yet relaxing golf course. It is especially useful for begginers.

This is a great course for getting your midiron game ready. #11 is the longest hole about 150yds but I find #4 to be hard. #4 has anarrow green and a sand trap on each side. I always land in the sand trap.

I love that golf course. I’ve been playing it since I was a little kid (I’m 50 now). Taught several friends (and one ex-boyfriend) to play, and will soon be teaching my husband to play on that course. It’s just the right length for a round - takes about 3 hours to play - and leaves the rest of the day for fun.

Riis is the perfect course to put together your short game. The holes are from 60-150 yards. With practice here and work at a driving range (Gateway Range is just down Flatbush avenue across from Floyd Bennett Field), you can put together a full golf game and improve.
I’ve been playing here with my friends and father since I was a young boy. I’m now 33 and still go back here to work on the pitching wedge shots…
They’ve recently been taken over by new management and there are improvements, including now being open at night with lights. Very cool.
Get there early in the morning or on weekends you’ll wait 10-15 minutes at the 3rd hole which usually backs up.

Riis Park Golf is great. They have now changed the back nine and front nine. My favorite hole is the 12 (formerly the 3).
I’ve been there about 6 times in my life, and that is how many times I’ve golfed. I get better each time.
Yesterday I got an 86.
