Very well kept course but the slowest round I've ever played. I went out at 3:15 yesterday (Saturday) afternoon and almost SIX HOURS LATER its was dark and my foursome could not finish the last two holes. I think the main problems are the 7 par three holes, which were consistently backed up with AT LEAST the two foursomes ahead of us, and too many people allowed on the course. Great course but space out the tee times and/or book fewer. Also the pro-shop has nothing in it.?? Their loss.. I would have spent another $50 on balls and a glove.

just have to say Douglaston is a nice course well taken care of ( i hear the regulars are very insistant about the upkeep) but have to disagree that it is a difficult course. try playing marine Park on a day when the wind is blowing off the water or Lataurette or split rock. those are hard courses.

Play from the tips, course is a little short to begin with.......Very hilly, you rarely will be hitting off a flat lie....stay straight with your Driver or you will be in alot of trouble....back nine is the scoring side, alot of Par 3's can make up if you had a tough front nine.....Long ball hitters will do well on holes 1, 7, 10 and 18. What's also nice about this course is that it is open all year long and never has temp tees or greens. Will take you more then one round to play very well becuase you are taking ALOT of blind shots....Good Luck.....
