Have you played Douglaston Golf Course? If so why not tell us about your favorite hole or the course and we will write your comments on this page.

Bill’s Favorite Hole: Hole #18 This 550 yard par 5 is reachable in two if you swing out of your shoes. The tee shot is to a narrow, tree lined fairway. The second shot is blind to an elevated green guarded by bunkers.

  2. Favorite Hole: Douglaston Hole #1 is my favorite. I love when everyone watches me hit a ground ball on the first tee, because they know its gonna be a long day waiting behind me.

  3. Of all the courses in NYC, Douglaston is the most beautiful and overall the most difficult. The numerous par threes save me. I love over water shots and #2 a par 3 is over water. There are two par 5’s which to me are par 8’s lol
#2 has been very kind to me for I have not lost any balls. On the other water holes I have but as the year goes on I lose less and less balls.
Could I be getting better …..nahhhhhhhhhhh just luckier.

  4. shot a 75 once at douglaston.. my home course as i live in the vecinity.1 and10 r my fav holes…very bumpy hilly kind of course and its dufficulty is nowhere listed on the scorecad. during peak season its a must play…long hitters will do well if they stay relatively straight…

  5. hidden greens, rolling hills, and a 10th hole par 4 dangerously tempting for the long ball driver. dont underestimate this short par 67, providing
challenging tee shots, and greens only the locals could identify from a second shot. this course is well maintained and always a satisfying round of golf.

  6. i have not played at the golf course & i do not care to , but i do live in the condo’s COLONIAL TOWNHOUSES ON 242ND STREET behind the cement wall & i have had my windows broken by golf balls . i have had to replace glass windows at $125.00. i do not think that the golf course is NOT responsible for these actions by there paying customers. i have been told that the city owns this golf course & nothing can be done about it. no amount of big trees or fences will keep those golf balls from going over and hitting peoples windows. i think that the DOUGLASTON GOLF COURSE SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE TO THE CONDO OWNERS FOR THE BROKEN GLASS WINDOWS. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE WINDOWS , WHILE THE GOLF COURSE IS MAKING TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FROM CUSTOMERS.

  7. hmmmmmm…something tells me that the golf course was there before you moved in?
Captain obvious could tell you that errant balls will go there from a public course.

  8. Play from the tips, course is a little short to begin with…….Very hilly, you rarely will be hitting off a flat lie….stay straight with your Driver or you will be in alot of trouble….back nine is the scoring side, alot of Par 3’s can make up if you had a tough front nine…..Long ball hitters will do well on holes 1, 7, 10 and 18. What’s also nice about this course is that it is open all year long and never has temp tees or greens. Will take you more then one round to play very well becuase you are taking ALOT of blind shots….Good Luck…..

  9. I am seeking a position closer to home after commuting to Manhattan for 14 years. So if you need an Administrative Assistant with some tax experience , feel free to give me a call. Come on and make my day.

  10. just have to say Douglaston is a nice course well taken care of ( i hear the regulars are very insistant about the upkeep) but have to disagree that it is a difficult course. try playing marine Park on a day when the wind is blowing off the water or Lataurette or split rock. those are hard courses.

  11. Very well kept course but the slowest round I’ve ever played. I went out at 3:15 yesterday (Saturday) afternoon and almost SIX HOURS LATER its was dark and my foursome could not finish the last two holes. I think the main problems are the 7 par three holes, which were consistently backed up with AT LEAST the two foursomes ahead of us, and too many people allowed on the course. Great course but space out the tee times and/or book fewer. Also the pro-shop has nothing in it.?? Their loss.. I would have spent another $50 on balls and a glove.
