Home to Van Cortlandt Park Golf Course , the first public golf course in the country, the Bronx will soon be home to New York’s newest golf course Ferry Point; a Jack Nicklaus designed championship facility beneath the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge.
Held up by numerous legal battles and other controversies since 2001, work has finally resumed and the parks department officials expect it to open before the end of next year.
Until then the Bronx has plenty to offer at Pelham Golf Course/Split Rock Golf Course, Mosholu Golf Course and Van Cortlandt Park Golf Course.
The Bronx also has plenty to offer in and around the courses.
Located just off Pelham Bay, City Island with its quaint New England feel and dozens of fine seafood restaurants is just a short ride from the Pelham Split Rock clubhouse. The Turtle Cove practice center is also nearby for those looking to warm up before a round.
The Bronx Zoo, the New York Botanical Gardens, Yankee Stadium and even Woodlawn Cemetery final resting place of musical greats Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington and Miles Davis among others, are all easily reached. If that’s not enough to get you to the Bronx, remember there are few - if any, places in world that offer a better collection of Italian restaurants than you’ll find along Arthur Ave.
The RFP for the renovation, operation and maintenance of Van Cortlandt Golf Course in the Bronx are now in the process of being distributed by the NYC Parks Department. Anyone interested in obtaining a copy of the RPF should contact Project Managers Gabrielle Ohayon and Anthony Macari. Their phone number is 212-360-1397. The Parks Department is seeking a concessionair for one twenty (20) year term. No longer term will be considered. There will be a proposer meeting and site tour on Tuesday October 17th, and all proposals are due Wednesday November 15, 2006 at 3PM (no exceptions).
The Parks Department also recently released the RPF for Silver Lake Golf Course in Staten Island. Anyone interested in that information should contact the Parks Department immediately as the deadline imminent.
Please do not contact golfinnyc.com regarding this matter as we have no any further information available to us and do not want to delay anyone's proposals.

POLICIES
The following policies are in place at all courses operated by American Golf in New York City.
Rain Check Policy
*USGA and PGA guidelines are used
Lightning in the area will close the course. Heavy rain or casual water forming on the greens will cause a 30-minute delay in play. If course management deems the course unplayable, rain checks will be issued as follows:
* 4 holes or less completed Full credit
* 5 - 12 holes completed 9 hole credit
* 13 or more holes completed No credit
Light rain will not close the course. You may cancel your reservation up to 24 hours in advance and receive a rain check for greens fee only. No rain checks will be issued for no-shows, or groups showing up with less than their reserved # of players.
Guaranteed Tee Time Cancellation Policy
(Weekdays, Weekends & Holidays)
All advance tee times must be made through the central reservation office and secured with a credit card number. There will be no charge to the credit card for all cancellations made up to the day before play. No-shows and “short-shows” will be charged green and reservation fee.
Tee Time Honor Policy
If a reserved time is not honored by American Golf within a 30 minute grace period, American Golf will forfeit the reservation fee. This policy excludes delays made through frost, fog, inclement weather, or other natural causes beyond the control of American Golf.
Reservation Fee Refund Policy
Reservation fees will be refunded only according to the Tee Time Honor Policy outlined above.
